Adding and arranging places
Open Clocks, tap +, then search by city or country. Tap Edit to reorder or remove saved places.
Open a saved place to give it a custom name. This is useful when a city represents a person, team, or office.
Comparing times
Open Compare to see the same instant across every saved place. Each column is one place and every row represents the same moment.
Cells highlighted in blue fall between 09:00 and 17:00 in that place. Hour Atlas also searches the next seven days for a moment that falls within those hours everywhere.
Use the date and time controls or the β and + buttons to move the shared moment. Tap Return to Now to resume the live clock.
Sunrise, sunset, and clock changes
Hour Atlas calculates solar times on-device using the coordinates of each city center. Terrain, elevation, weather, and atmospheric conditions can make an observed sunrise or sunset differ slightly.
Upcoming clock changes come from the time-zone information supplied by the operating system. Keeping iOS up to date helps keep those rules current.
A widget is stale
Open Hour Atlas after installing or updating it so the shared place snapshot can refresh. The World Clocks widget supports small, medium, and large sizes. The Time Grid widget supports medium and large sizes.
iOS controls the exact widget refresh schedule. Opening the app after changing saved places asks the system to refresh all Hour Atlas widgets.
Resetting the app
Open Settings β Start over to remove every saved place and return to the welcome screen. You can then add places again or explore the examples.
Privacy
Hour Atlas works without an account or network connection. Saved places remain on the device and are shared only with Hour Atlas widgets through Appleβs private App Group storage.
